Emma has had a passion for art since she was a little child when she would sit on the lounge room floor and try to impress her dad with her colourful scribbles!
Emma studied graphic design before setting up a design business in 1991. The popularity of her work through the business projects she was doing led her to commit to becoming a full time artist in 2001, which she has been doing ever since.
Emma’s works encompass a love of life, love of travel and a love of the Australian landscape which she first experienced on family travels and enjoyment of the simple things in life.
There is nothing like camping on a river under a boab tree surrounded by brolgas, bush turkeys & cockatoos, whistling kites hovering in the smoke of the campfire. With a sketchbook in hand she captures this vivid, busy and yet peaceful scenery. She’s inspires by the unique colours, remoteness and wildlife, from waterfalls and brolgas of the Kimberley, to rock art and billabongs of Kakadu, cockatoos flying over spectacular gorges in Litchfield, the turquoise bays of the Daintree, Cape York and WA’s southwest.
The larger than life Western Australian landscape and laid back lifestyle inspires her to utilise large brush strokes and vibrant colours to portray a range of scenes.
Her depiction of WA is a fun and simplistic style of art which brings colour and joy to the viewer.
